Uso di "suggest"
Suggest può essere utilizzato in tre strutture diverse con significato identico o simile. La struttura è un po' complicata, quindi prestate attenzione ai dettagli. Suggest può essere seguito da un gerundio, oppure da un aggettivo possessivo + un gerundio quando il gerundio non si riferisce al soggetto della frase.

- He suggested going to Glastonbury.
- He suggested my going to Glastonbury.
- I suggested visiting your grandmother.
- I suggested your visiting your grandmother.
Suggest può inoltre essere seguito da that + soggetto + should + verbo, ma in queste strutture sia that e should possono essere omessi, e il soggetto appare direttamente dopo il verbo suggest.

- He suggests I go to New York.
Suggest può essere seguito da un sostantivo se il significato risulta chiaro dal contesto.

- I suggest Jim for this project.
- He suggested the Toyota Prius instead of another hybrid car.
- If you are allergic to hair, I suggest a bird or a fish as a pet.
Infine, suggest può essere seguito da un pronome interrogativo + l'infinito.
